Amar Ibrišimović joins Željezničar on loan from Schalke
Bosnian defender Amar Ibrišimović, 19, has been loaned from German club FC Schalke 04 to FK Željezničar Sarajevo for the upcoming season. The Tuzla‑born player entered the Wolfsburg academy at 16, appeared for its U‑17 and U‑19 sides and even trained with the first team before moving to Schalke last summer. He has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth level 19 times and made eight appearances for the U‑19 side. Ibrišimović said his first impressions at Željezničar are “phenomenal” and pledged to give his all for the club.
Separately, 19‑year‑old forward Tarik Seferović, a Bosnian‑Krajina native who grew up in the Swiss system, has indicated he wants to switch his international allegiance to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Seferović, who earned about 15 caps for Switzerland’s U‑17 team, will spend the next season with FC Wil 1990 in the Swiss second division, playing primarily as a left‑back despite being right‑footed.
