Amarante hosts UVVA Wine Festival celebrating Green Wine and regional culture

The Claustros of the Museu de Arte Moderna Amadeo de Souza‑Cardoso in Amarante will host the UVVA – Universo do Vinho Verde Amarante festival from 24 to 26 July 2026. The three‑day event showcases the region’s green wines, regional gastronomy and cultural identity, adding the participation of the Comissão Vitivinícola Regional de Trás‑os‑Montes for the first time. It also honours local writer and poet Maria Eulália de Macedo, known as “Lalinha”, with a municipal Medal of Honour.

Program highlights include guided wine tastings, chef‑led food pairings, sector expert talks, live music, a lounge area for socialising and the UVVA Wine Competition judging categories such as White, Rosé, Red, Sparkling and Pétillant Naturel. Tickets cost €5 per day (including a €2.50 consumption token) or €10 for a three‑day pass.
