Amaro Freitas to perform at Estilo Brasil Festival 2026

Renowned Brazilian pianist Amaro Freitas is scheduled to perform at the 2026 Estilo Brasil Festival in Brasília. The performance, set for October 30 at the Ulysses Convention Center, will feature collaborations with rapper Criolo and Portuguese singer Dino D’Santiago, following the release of their collaborative album ‘Criolo, Amaro & Dino’.

Freitas, a recipient of the Paul Acket 2026 Prize, is recognized for integrating African musical elements and Brazilian popular culture into contemporary jazz. His work is part of a broader movement in Brazilian jazz that emphasizes Afro-Brazilian heritage and incorporates diverse rhythmic influences, such as funk carioca and percussion from candomblé, moving beyond traditional bossa nova styles.
