Amas Obasogie named Bendel Insurance captain

Bendel Insurance has appointed Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie as the club’s new captain. The 26-year-old shot-stopper returns to the Benin-based club for a second spell following a stint with Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars.

Experienced striker Kayode Oke has been named as Obasogie’s deputy. The club management expects Obasogie’s domestic and international experience to provide stability for Kennedy Boboye’s side as they navigate the 2026/27 NPFL campaign. The team has had a mixed start to the season, recording one win and one defeat in their opening two matches.
