Amasra hosts inaugural Çeşm-i Cihan running race

The inaugural Amasra Çeşm-i Cihan Run was held in the historical district of Amasra, Bartın. The event featured a 7-kilometer course consisting of two stages through roads and trails, starting from the Barış Akarsu Park near the municipal building.

A total of 468 athletes participated in 20 different categories. Participants traveled from 33 different provinces in Turkey, as well as from Russia, Germany, England, Azerbaijan, and Ethiopia.

Bartın Governor Nurtaç Arslan, who helped start the race, stated that the goal of the organization is to promote sports, highlight Amasra’s tourism potential, and showcase its historical and natural beauty. The Governor expressed hope that the event will become a traditional annual occurrence, noting that the participants would serve as tourism ambassadors for the region.
