Amata Corporation proposes flood recovery measures for Thai factories
Amata Corporation has proposed a six-point recovery plan to the Thai government to assist industrial operators affected by unprecedented flooding. The proposal, presented by CEO Vikrom Kromadit following discussions with the Ministry of Industry and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, aims to restore manufacturing confidence and improve long-term flood prevention.
Key measures proposed to the government include establishing a joint command center, improving water drainage systems through public space development, and accelerating infrastructure budget approvals. Amata also urged the Board of Investment (BOI) to consider tax incentives, such as 3–5 year corporate income tax exemptions and import duty waivers for replacement machinery.
To provide immediate relief, Amata has announced its own measures, including a 50% reduction in monthly maintenance fees and a 50% reduction in water utility costs for one year, effective from October 2026, for factories experiencing significant production impacts.
