AmaWaterways to launch AmaMaya Mekong river cruise in 2027

AmaWaterways has announced the launch of AmaMaya, a new 120-passenger luxury river cruise ship scheduled to begin operations along the Mekong River in January 2027. The vessel will serve itineraries in Vietnam and Cambodia, specifically the ‘Charms of the Mekong’ and ‘Riches of the Mekong’ routes.

Designed with Indochine-inspired aesthetic details, the ship will feature 60 staterooms and public areas intended to facilitate relaxation and scenic viewing. Onboard dining will include the Mekong Restaurant, which blends international and regional flavors, and The Chef’s Table for multi-course tasting experiences. AmaWaterways CEO Catherine Powell stated that the ship is designed to complement the region's surroundings while providing close contact with local traditions and landscapes.
