Amazfit announces T-Rex Dual Solar smartwatch with dual-sided solar charging

Amazfit has announced the release of the T-Rex Dual Solar, a GPS smartwatch featuring a world-first dual-sided solar charging system. The device utilizes solar energy through both the front display and a glass-ceramic rear plate to extend battery life during extended outdoor activities.

Equipped with a 660mAh battery, the watch offers a typical battery life of 25 days. By utilizing the front solar panel, life can extend to 34 days, while the larger rear panel can extend it to 51 days under specific lighting conditions. In “Outdoor Extreme Mode,” the device can last up to 180 days.

The smartwatch is designed for rugged environments, featuring a Grade 5 titanium body, a sapphire crystal screen with 3,000 nits peak brightness, and 10 ATM water resistance. It includes dual-band six-satellite positioning, offline mapping capabilities, and a built-in flashlight with red-light functionality. The device is scheduled for release in Malaysia on October 23, with further availability following in other regions.
