Amazfit Helio Strap enables call vibrations via unofficial app

An unofficial Android application, OpenStrap, has enabled vibration alerts for incoming calls and smartphone notifications on the Amazfit Helio Strap. While the device includes a vibration motor, Zepp Health, the company behind Amazfit, has previously limited its use to essential system alerts such as low battery or pairing confirmations.

The development of OpenStrap highlights a growing trend in the fitness industry toward screenless trackers, similar to products from Whoop, Garmin, and Fitbit. These devices focus on health and workout data collection without a display, often prioritizing long battery life and lightweight designs.
