Amazfit launches T-Rex Dual Solar smartwatch with dual-sided solar charging

Amazfit has announced the European launch of the T-Rex Dual Solar, a new sports smartwatch featuring a dual solar charging system. It is the first AMOLED smartwatch to utilize two solar panels: one integrated into the 1.32-inch AMOLED screen and a second, larger panel located on the ceramic glass back of the device.

This dual-sided design is intended to maximize energy capture. When worn, the front panel collects light; when placed face-down during breaks, the larger rear panel can be used to extend battery life. The device features a 660 mAh battery and a screen with a brightness of 3,000 nits for outdoor visibility.

Under standard usage, the watch typically lasts 25 days. With three hours of daily exposure to 50,000 lux light, the battery life can extend to 51 days using the rear panel. For extreme outdoor activities, an “Outdoor Extreme” mode can provide up to 180 days of autonomy.
