Amazfit unveils T-Rex Dual Solar smartwatch with dual-sided solar charging

Amazfit has introduced the T-Rex Dual Solar, a premium outdoor smartwatch designed for long expeditions. The device features a unique dual-sided solar charging system, combining a solar panel beneath the AMOLED display with a second panel integrated into the glass-ceramic back. This dual-sided approach allows the watch to capture energy both while worn on the wrist and when placed face-down in the sun.

Equipped with a 660 mAh battery, the watch offers up to 25 days of battery life under normal use. Regular solar exposure can extend this duration; three hours of daily sunlight at 50,000 lux can increase battery life to 34 days, while utilizing the rear solar panel can extend it up to 51 days. The device includes a 'Solar Priority' mode to minimize consumption and an 'Expedition' mode specifically for multi-day trips away from power sources.

Constructed for durability, the watch features a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with 3,000 nits peak brightness protected by sapphire glass. The casing utilizes Grade 5 titanium and fiber-reinforced polymer, offering 10 ATM water resistance suitable for recreational diving up to 50 meters. Navigation features include dual-band GPS and pre-installed color maps, including contour lines and ski maps.
