Amazigh Political Movement announces upcoming founding congress

The Amazigh Political Movement held a regional communication meeting in El Hajeb, Morocco, in coordination with the Amour Association for Amazigh Culture and Human Rights. The gathering brought together activists from various regions, including Meknes, Ifrane, Khenifra, and the southeast, to discuss the current state of the Amazigh cause and future political organization.

During the meeting, the national supervisory committee presented a report detailing the movement's progress and the challenges faced during its formation. Participants emphasized the need to build an advocacy force to defend Amazigh rights and promote the language as a fundamental component of Moroccan identity. They called for the expansion of Amazigh language instruction and better support for its educators.

The movement officially announced that its founding congress will be held soon, marking a transition from preparatory coordination to formal political and organizational construction. Additionally, participants expressed solidarity with detainees from the Rif movement and other political prisoners in Morocco, calling for their immediate release as a prerequisite for a democratic society.
