Amazon acquires equity stake in Taiwan's Gold Circuit Electronics

Amazon has secured a direct equity stake in Taiwan-based printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer Gold Circuit Electronics Inc. through a strategic private placement. The investment, totaling approximately NT$1.589 billion (USD 54.45 million), involves Amazon subscribing to roughly 1.86 million shares at a price of NT$856 per share.

This move transitions Amazon from a corporate client to a formal shareholder of the Taiwanese firm. The investment is driven by the global artificial intelligence boom, which has increased demand for specialized circuit boards used in AI servers. The transaction marks Gold Circuit's first private placement this year involving an outside strategic investor.
