Amazon allocates $1 billion to launch AWS Forward‑Deployed AI Engineering team

Amazon announced a $1 billion investment to create the AWS Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team, a group of AI engineers who will work directly inside client organisations to design and deploy generative‑AI agent systems in days rather than months. The first customers cited include the Allen Institute, Cox Automotive, the NBA, the NFL, Ricoh and Southwest Airlines. The move underscores the rapid rise of forward‑deployed engineers, now among the most sought‑after AI talent.
