Amazon and MAW expand employment presence in Italy
Amazon has inaugurated a new distribution center in Jesi, marking it as the largest robotic facility in Italy and the second largest in Europe. The project represents an investment of over 180 million euros, with an estimated economic impact of 900 million euros on the Marche region. Currently, the facility has hired 500 permanent employees, with a target to reach 1,000 permanent positions within the next three years. The center utilizes advanced technology to improve safety and accessibility, and Amazon notes that women comprise 35% of its logistics workforce in Italy.
In a separate development, the employment agency MAW has opened a new branch in Cittadella. Since becoming operational in June, the branch has managed over 90 personnel searches for various companies. MAW aims to increase its current staff of 35 to 50 workers by the end of the year. The agency provides services across multiple sectors, including metalworking, food production, and logistics, to support the local industrial fabric.
