Amazon and Scott Free Productions to adapt ‘The Folk of the Air’

Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions is partnering with Amazon to adapt Holly Black’s bestselling fantasy book series, ‘The Folk of the Air’, into a new television series. The adaptation will bring the world of Elfhame and its royal court to the screen.

The story follows Jude Duarte, a mortal girl navigating the treacherous politics of a faerie kingdom after the murder of her parents. The series will draw from the main saga, which includes ‘The Cruel Prince’, ‘The Wicked King’, and ‘The Queen of Nothing’, as well as companion stories and the ‘Stolen Heir’ duology.

This marks a return to the fantasy genre for Scott, who previously directed the 1985 film ‘Legend’. His production company has been increasingly active in high-profile genre television, including ‘Raised by Wolves’ and the upcoming ‘Blade Runner 2099’.
