Amazon and Walmart launch early holiday sales amid consumer discount concerns

Retailers including Amazon and Walmart are beginning early holiday sales, offering discounts on various products such as technology, kitchen gadgets, and toys. Amazon has introduced specific offers on gift cards, including reduced prices on Uber, Just Eat, and Nike cards, as well as rewards for purchasing LEGO and One4all Exchange codes.

However, consumer concerns regarding the legitimacy of these discounts remain high. A CNET survey indicates that 43% of US adults are frustrated by fake or misleading discounts, while 35% are concerned about inflated baseline costs. Experts note that some retailers may inflate the recommended retail price to make discounts appear larger than they actually are, though early sales can still provide modest savings on items like laptops and headphones.
