Amazon announces Fallout reality competition series

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed a 2027 release date for ‘Fallout Shelter: The Experiment’, a new reality competition series inspired by the Fallout franchise. The show will feature contestants competing inside replica Vault-Tec bomb-proof shelters, facing psychological dilemmas, strategic challenges, and survival drills for a $1 million prize.

The series is a co-production between Studio Lambert, Kilter Films, and Bethesda Game Studios, with Bethesda director Todd Howard serving as an executive producer. Studio Lambert is also known for producing ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’.

Streaming is scheduled to begin on January 13, 2027, with the first four episodes dropping simultaneously. Subsequent episodes will release weekly through January 27, 2027. This expansion follows the success of the Fallout scripted series, which remains among Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched shows.
