Amazon to hire 300,000 seasonal workers across the U.S

Amazon has announced plans to recruit over 300,000 seasonal employees nationwide for the 2026 holiday season. The hiring initiative includes temporary, part-time, and full-time roles across fulfillment centers, distribution hubs, and logistics operations.

Seasonal workers can expect an average wage of approximately $20 per hour. For full-time operations staff, the average pay reaches about $24 per hour, with total compensation exceeding $32 per hour when including benefits. In specific regions, such as Houston, Texas, Amazon is seeking over 6,000 new vacancies, while Florida will see more than 21,000 positions.

Other companies are also expanding seasonal staff. UPS expects to add 100,000 workers, and Spirit Halloween plans to employ a record 52,000 associates. Amidst this hiring surge, the Better Business Bureau has issued warnings to job seekers regarding potential employment scams targeting seasonal applicants.
