Amazon appoints cybersecurity expert Kevin Mandia to Board of Directors

Amazon has appointed cybersecurity expert Kevin Mandia to its Board of Directors. Mandia is the founder of Mandiant, a firm specializing in incident response and threat intelligence that was later acquired by Google.

Mandia brings over 30 years of experience in defending against cyber threats across both public and private sectors. His previous roles include serving as a security official for the Pentagon and a special agent for the US Air Force. He is currently the founder and CEO of Armadin and a general partner at Ballistic Ventures.

Amazon stated that Mandia’s expertise in defending large organizations and his experience with emerging security companies will be vital as the company faces increasing cybersecurity risks, particularly those associated with the advancement of artificial intelligence.
