Amazon donates school supplies to organizations in Gera

Amazon's logistics center in Gera is participating in the nationwide ‘Aktion Schulstart’ initiative to support children facing socioeconomic disadvantages. As the new school year approaches, the facility donated 100 linen bags filled with essential school supplies, such as drawing pads, water bottles, and paint sets, to local organizations Schlupfwinkel Gera and Streetwork Gera.

This donation is part of a broader effort where Amazon employees at more than 80 locations across Germany packed approximately 21,000 bags this year. The initiative aims to address educational inequality, noting that according to UNICEF, over one million children in Germany are affected by poverty. Since 2018, Amazon expects to have supported over 100,000 children through this program by the end of 2026.
