Amazon drives AI adoption in Germany as analysts project trillion‑dollar revenue
A study commissioned by Amazon Web Services surveyed 2,000 German companies and found that 63 % now use artificial intelligence, up from 53 % a year earlier. However, only 15 % employ AI for truly transformative applications, well below the European average of 22 %. Most firms focus on basic uses such as chat‑bots, while a small minority combine multiple models or agentic AI. Start‑ups are the most active users, yet 42 % consider relocating abroad because of limited financing, talent shortages and fragmented regulation.
Separately, analysts forecast that Amazon could become the first company to record annual revenue of US$1 trillion by 2028. The projection rests on the firm’s diversified model—e‑commerce, cloud services, advertising, logistics and its own AI chips. Amazon plans roughly US$200 billion of investments in 2026, with chip sales already exceeding US$20 billion and posting triple‑digit growth. In the first quarter of 2026 the company posted revenue of US$181.5 billion, far above expectations, and reported earnings per share of US$2.78.
