Amazon expands electric micro-mobility delivery hubs in Italy

Amazon is expanding its use of small electric vehicles for deliveries within restricted traffic zones (ZTL) across Italy. The company has introduced micromobility hubs in Terni and Cagliari to facilitate zero-emission deliveries in narrow urban streets.

In addition to Terni and Cagliari, Amazon announced the introduction of these hubs in five other Italian cities: Lecce, Lucca, Palermo, and Salerno. This brings the total number of Italian cities utilizing micromobility hubs to 14, joining Milan, Genoa, Bologna, Naples, Rome, Trento, Verona, and Florence.

Paolo Patrone, CEO of Amazon Italia Transport, stated that using small electric vehicles allows for efficient service while respecting the environment and historical heritage of complex urban centers. The initiative aims to reduce emissions, noise, and traffic congestion in historic districts.
