Amazon expands fresh grocery delivery in Germany

Amazon has launched a same-day fresh grocery delivery service in three German cities: Frankfurt, Cologne, and Munich. Customers in selected postal codes can order items such as fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, and frozen goods through the standard Amazon.de website or shopping app.

Deliveries are handled directly by Amazon, offering two-hour or four-hour windows. Fees vary based on Prime membership status and order value. For Prime members, orders over 29 euros qualify for free delivery in four-hour windows, while two-hour windows incur fees ranging from 2.90 to 4.90 euros. Non-Prime members face delivery fees between 9.99 and 10.99 euros.

To maintain quality, temperature-sensitive products are stored under controlled conditions and transported in insulated, recyclable packaging. Amazon plans to expand this service to additional metropolitan regions in the coming weeks.
