Amazon Game Studios to Lead Future James Bond Video Games

Amazon Gaming confirmed that its Amazon Game Studios unit will take over development of future James Bond games after the company completed its acquisition of MGM, the owner of the franchise's intellectual property. Jeff Gattis, general manager of Amazon Gaming, explained that the deal was finalized after the contract for 007: First Light with IO Interactive was already signed, so the upcoming titles will be produced “in‑house” under MGM’s umbrella.

Separately, IO Interactive announced the first post‑launch story DLC for 007: First Light, featuring a new mission that returns the character Bawma, portrayed by Lenny Kravitz. The DLC teaser was revealed at Summer Game Fest, and the new mission is set in Mauritania. While no release date has been given, the content expands the game’s narrative as fans await details on the next installment that Amazon will oversee.
