Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics set release date for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis remake

Lara Croft will return in a full ground‑up remake of the 1996 classic Tomb Raider, titled Legacy of Atlantis. Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics announced a firm launch date of 12 February 2027, confirming that the new title will rebuild the original adventure with modern graphics, controls and optional difficulty settings, and will reinstate iconic moments such as the T‑rex battle.

The demo shown at Summer Game Fest 2026 demonstrated the blend of classic level design with updated mechanics, featuring exploration in a Peruvian Lost Valley and puzzle solving that relies on environmental clues. Jeff Hays, Experience Director at Crystal Dynamics, emphasized the focus on letting players “feel like Lara Croft” by providing clear guidance and adjustable challenge levels. The project is a joint effort between Crystal Dynamics and Polish studio Flying Wild Hog, aiming to deliver both nostalgic appeal and fresh gameplay for a new audience.
