007 First Light gets first content update as Amazon hints at possible sequel

IO Interactive released patch 1.1.0 for 007 First Light, the first post‑launch content update. The update adds two new TacSim Escalation missions – “The Workshop” and “Extraction Avenues” – each with three tiers, three new weapons (the Stormberg .50 cal handgun, DRX‑2 Machine Pistol and DRS‑7 Silenced SMG) and a new outfit called “Diamond in the Rough”. It also includes fixes for more than 200 issues and stability improvements, especially on Xbox Series S. Download size varies by platform, around 24 GB on PS5 and under 4 GB on PC and Xbox.

Amazon Games head Jeff Gattis told GamesIndustry.biz that, given the game’s success, it is realistic to expect a sequel, but Amazon has not yet decided who will publish or develop it. Amazon holds the James Bond licence through its acquisition of MGM, and Gattis said the company would act in the game’s best interest, noting that IO Interactive would likely be the logical developer. No talks have taken place about a sequel or any acquisition of IO Interactive, though Gattis left the door open to future possibilities.
