Amazon hub workers in Fossano strike over site closure
Approximately 150 workers at an Amazon delivery hub in Fossano, managed by the contractor Teamwork, have gone on strike following the announcement of the site's closure. The facility is scheduled to shut down on September 30, with operations transferring to a new location in Madonna dell’Olmo, over 20 kilometers away.
Employees expressed three primary concerns regarding the reorganization: increased commuting distances for 95% of the staff, uncertainty regarding new employment contracts as two new companies take over the service, and a lack of prior communication from the company. The Fossano site has been operational for six years, handling up to 25,000 shipments during peak periods.
