Amazon expands Bee AI hardware with new wearable and phone attachment

Amazon has expanded its Bee AI hardware line with the introduction of two new devices: the Bee Frontier and the Bee Eclipse. These products are designed to function as AI-powered memory assistants by recording and summarizing spoken conversations into notes, to-do lists, and reminders.

The Bee Frontier is a wearable device priced at $74.99 that can be worn on the wrist with a silicone band or clipped to clothing. It features dual microphones with noise filtering, an IP67 water resistance rating, and a battery life of up to seven days. The Bee Eclipse, priced starting at $99.99, is a credit-card-sized attachment that magnetically snaps to the back of a smartphone. It is designed to process both ambient conversations and sides of phone calls, with a reported battery life of over 21 days.

A key integration feature allows users to link the devices to their Amazon accounts via a Bee Pro subscription, which costs $12 per month. When enabled, products mentioned during conversations can appear as personalized recommendations on the user's Amazon homepage. Amazon states that audio is deleted immediately after processing to protect privacy, though the mechanism for generating shopping suggestions remains a point of interest.
