Amazon introduces price history tool in Germany

Amazon has introduced a new ‘Price History’ button to its online shop in Germany, allowing customers to better evaluate discounts. The feature is designed to combat misleading pricing where sellers may use outdated manufacturer suggested retail prices (MSRP) to make discounts appear larger than they are.

When users click the button, the Rufus AI assistant opens to display the product's price development over the last 30 days, three months, or the entire past year. This tool helps shoppers determine if a sale is genuine or if the price was inflated immediately before a promotion.

While the feature has been available for some time in the United States, United Kingdom, and India, its rollout in Germany is currently limited to the desktop version of the website; it is not yet available on mobile devices.
