Amazon invests $6 billion more in Louisiana data centers

Amazon has announced an additional $6 billion investment in data center campuses across northwest Louisiana. This expansion brings the company’s total planned investment in the region to $18 billion.

The new funding will support a third campus at Resilient Technology Park in Shreveport, supplementing two existing facilities currently under construction in Caddo and Bossier Parishes. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the expansion will create 210 direct jobs and 499 indirect jobs. Across all three campuses, the project is expected to support approximately 750 direct positions and 1,784 indirect roles at local vendors and service businesses. Additionally, STACK Infrastructure expects the buildout to support up to 2,250 construction jobs.

To prepare the local workforce, Amazon plans to launch development programs in partnership with local technical colleges and community organizations. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry stated that the deepened commitment demonstrates confidence in the state’s business environment and workforce.
