Amazon Kindle redesign leaked with new colors and button placement
Leaked marketing images have revealed a redesign for Amazon’s next-generation entry-level Kindle, likely the 12th generation model. The upcoming e-reader features several physical and aesthetic updates intended to improve user experience and modernize the device's appearance.
Key design changes include the relocation of the power button from the bottom edge to the top right side, a move intended to prevent accidental sleep mode triggers during single-handed reading. The device also moves away from sharp, rectangular lines in favor of more rounded corners on both the casing and the E Ink display. Some images suggest potential variations in screen construction, including both recessed and flush-to-edge display options.
In addition to the standard black model, the new Kindle is expected to launch in several new colors, including light blue, green, and purple or mauve. The leak also indicates that Amazon may release an updated Kindle Kids edition alongside the standard model. While specific technical specifications, pricing, and an official release date have not been confirmed, the timing suggests a potential launch around the holiday season.
