Amazon has announced a major refresh of its Echo product ecosystem, centered on its enhanced AI assistant, Alexa+. The new lineup includes several updated and entirely new devices designed to integrate more deeply into home environments.
Key hardware updates include the Echo Show 16, a 16-inch smart display featuring a thinner design, a 13-megapixel camera with night vision, and an optional Nanomatte anti-glare screen. The Echo Dot has been upgraded with the custom AZ3 chip, improved bass, and now functions as a smart home hub supporting Zigbee, Thread, and Matter protocols, while also acting as an eero Wi-Fi extender.
New product categories introduced include the Echo Time, a smart alarm clock that uses Omnisense technology to detect sleep phases and wake users during lighter sleep, and the Alexa Photo Frame, a 10-inch touchscreen designed to display photos via Amazon Photos. Additionally, the Echo Studio has been updated with an integrated camera to enable visual intelligence and advanced room adaptation for optimized audio performance.
