Amazon logistics sector sees new historical research and industry expansion

Developments in the Amazonian transport and logistics sector have been highlighted through a new historical publication and the expansion of a major regional trade fair.

The Fundação Memória do Transporte (FuMTran) launched the book ‘A História do Transporte da Amazônia’ (The History of Transport in the Amazon), written by historian Etelvina Garcia. The launch event in São Paulo included industry representatives and academics, aiming to promote knowledge regarding the unique logistical challenges and history of the Amazon region as part of FuMTran’s 30th anniversary.

Simultaneously, organizers of TranspoAmazônia announced updates for the 2027 edition of the event. To address regional productive demands, the fair will be renamed the International Fair and Congress of Transport, Logistics, and Naval Construction. The inclusion of the naval industry and cabotage aims to support fluvial navigation and sustainable economic development in the Amazonas state.
