Amazon MGM secures streaming rights for Elden Ring film
Amazon MGM has reportedly acquired international pay-1 streaming rights for the upcoming Elden Ring film, according to Deadline. The deal, which could be worth tens of millions of dollars, was finalized ahead of the American Film Market.
Directed and written by Alex Garland, the live-action adaptation is being produced by A24 with an estimated budget between 175 and 200 million dollars. The screenplay is reported to be approximately 180 pages long, suggesting a runtime of nearly three hours. The film features a cast including Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and Nick Offerman.
The project is based on the FromSoftware video game, which features mythology developed in collaboration with George R. R. Martin. To prevent spoilers, A24 staff have reportedly accompanied potential buyers while they read the script, with certain portions being withheld from view.
