Amazon opens $400m fulfilment centre in Western Sydney
Amazon Australia has officially opened a new $400 million fulfilment centre in Horsley Park, located in Western Sydney. The 80,000 square metre facility is designed to hold more than 10 million items, including electronics, beauty products, and household essentials.
The investment is expected to create approximately 1,000 local jobs once the facility is fully operational. Employment opportunities range from entry-level roles with on-the-job training to skilled positions in engineering, human resources, and operations. Permanent employees will have access to benefits such as subsidised health insurance, life insurance, and parental leave.
Wayne Angus, Director of Operations at Amazon Australia, stated that the facility aims to increase product selection and improve delivery speeds for customers. The centre will also support small and medium-sized businesses through the Fulfilment by Amazon service, allowing them to utilize Amazon’s picking, packing, and delivery network.
