Amazon Prime documentary explores Caroline Crouch murder case

A new Amazon Prime Video true crime documentary, ‘The Fitbit Killer’, examines the 2021 murder of Caroline Crouch in Glyka Nera, Greece. Produced by the British company Story Films, the two-part series explores how digital evidence, specifically data from a smartwatch, helped investigators dismantle the elaborate cover story provided by her husband, Babis Anagnostopoulos.

Anagnostopoulos initially claimed that armed robbers had broken into the family home, tying him up and attacking Crouch. However, investigators used fitness tracker data to reveal discrepancies in his account. The smartwatch recorded significant changes in Crouch’s heart rate during her final moments, which contradicted the fabricated robbery narrative.

The production team spent 14 days filming in Greece, including locations in Glyka Nera and Alonissos. The documentary features interviews with Crouch’s father, David Crouch, legal professionals involved in the case, and individuals familiar with the police investigation.
