Amazon Prime to release Gary Lineker docuseries in 2027

Amazon Prime Video is set to release a four-part docuseries about Gary Lineker in 2027. The series, currently under the working title ‘Lineker’, will chronicle the life of the former professional footballer and prominent broadcaster.

Produced by Orchard Studios, the documentary will utilize nostalgic archives and unseen personal footage to explore Lineker’s journey from his childhood in Leicester to his career playing for clubs such as Everton, Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nagoya Grampus. It will also cover his long tenure as the lead presenter for BBC’s ‘Match of the Day’.

The production aims to provide candid insights into his life, including his reputation as a disciplined player who never received a yellow or red card, as well as the controversies that led to his departure from the BBC. The series will feature interviews with family, friends, fellow footballers, and critics to examine his impact on British culture and politics.
