Amazon and Sony develop Spider-Man Clone Saga series

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television are reportedly nearing a green light for a new live-action Spider-Man series based on the Marvel Comics “Clone Saga” storyline. The project is expected to air on Prime Video and potentially debut on MGM+.

The series will focus on the characters Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker, two genetic clones of Peter Parker. While the show will draw inspiration from the controversial 1990s comic book arc, reports suggest the adaptation may introduce significant changes to the characters' origins and identities to navigate complex rights arrangements.

Kelvin Yu, creator of “American Born Chinese,” is set to write and showrun the series. Executive producers are expected to include Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller. This new development follows the recent cancellation of the Spider-Man spin-off “Spider-Noir” after its first season.
