Amazon accidentally leaks Jason Statham film ‘Mutiny’ on Prime Video

Amazon accidentally leaked the full version of the Jason Statham action thriller ‘Mutiny’ on Prime Video for several hours just days before its scheduled theatrical release. The error occurred when the film was mistakenly posted on a product detail page intended for trailers, allowing some subscribers to stream the entire 95-minute movie for free.

The incident has caused significant concern for Lionsgate and international film buyers. With the film being a $50 million-plus production and Lionsgate having reportedly paid an eight-figure sum for domestic rights, distributors fear the leak will drive widespread piracy and undermine the theatrical box office. One international buyer described the situation as a ‘multimillion-dollar problem for Amazon,’ suggesting that the streamer, which acts as a Premium VOD partner, may be expected to provide financial compensation to help resolve the fallout.

While the film had recently opened in France and the Middle East, the leak has already led to high-quality pirated copies circulating online. Lionsgate’s anti-piracy team is currently working to contain the damage. Amazon and Lionsgate have declined to comment on the matter.
