Prime Video secures exclusive local streaming rights for six NHL teams

Amazon Prime Video has entered a multiyear agreement with the NHL to become the exclusive local streaming home for six teams starting in the 2026–27 season. The participating clubs are the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues.

Under the deal, fans within each team’s regional territory can access games, including pre- and post-game coverage, via the Prime Video app. Subscription models vary by team: Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks games will be included with a standard Prime membership, while the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Wild, and Blues will be available via a monthly or yearly fee, which can be purchased without a Prime subscription.

This shift follows the decline of traditional regional sports networks, such as the dissolution of Main Street Sports Group and Victory+. Additionally, Amazon will continue its national presence in Canada, broadcasting 'Wednesday Night Hockey' in both English and French as part of a 12-year sub-licensing agreement with Rogers.
