Amazon raises prices on Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV devices

Amazon has implemented price increases across several of its consumer electronics lines, including Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, and eero hardware. Some devices have seen price hikes ranging from approximately 11% to 60%.

The most significant percentage increase affects the Echo Dot, which rose from $49.99 to $79.99. Other notable increases include the Kindle (16GB) rising from $109.99 to $149.99 and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max increasing from $59.99 to $84.99. In terms of absolute dollar value, the Echo Show 21 and eero Pro 7 saw the largest jumps, each increasing by $100.

Amazon attributes these adjustments to rising costs for memory and storage components. This supply issue is driven by a global shortage, largely fueled by the high demand for high-performance memory required to develop and operate artificial intelligence systems in large data centers.
