Amazon rebrands Kindle Unlimited to Kindle+

Amazon has officially rebranded its Kindle Unlimited subscription service to Kindle+. While the core reading experience remains largely unchanged—allowing subscribers to borrow up to 20 digital titles, including ebooks, comics, manga, and magazines, at a time—the update significantly expands the service's audiobook offerings.

Subscribers now gain access to thousands of additional audiobooks at no extra cost. This expansion includes both traditionally narrated titles via the Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX) and new audiobooks featuring “Virtual Voice,” an AI-driven narration tool. Through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), authors can use this free AI tool to generate audiobooks for their titles, which are then automatically eligible for the Kindle+ catalog if enrolled in KDP Select.

The rollout and features vary by region. In the United States, the subscription maintains its $11.99 monthly price. In the United Kingdom, the service has transitioned to the Kindle+ name, but audiobook access is currently excluded from the £9.49 monthly plan. In Brazil, the service costs R$ 24.90 per month. Amazon has indicated plans to expand audiobook availability to more international markets over time. All existing user data, including reading history, bookmarks, and notes, will transfer automatically to the new Kindle+ branding.
