Amazon reduces Prime fees in Germany following court ruling
Amazon is temporarily reducing its Prime membership fees for customers in Germany following a court decision by the Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof). The reduction follows legal action taken by the Verbraucherzentrale NRW regarding a price increase implemented in 2022.
Monthly fees are being lowered from 8.99 EUR to 7.99 EUR, and annual fees for certain long-term members are dropping from 89.90 EUR to 69.00 EUR. The changes are automatic and apply to the next billing cycle rather than retroactively. This adjustment specifically affects German subscribers who have held memberships since 2022.
In conjunction with these changes, various hardware deals are available during the October Prime Big Deal Days. These include discounts on storage devices such as the Samsung 9100 PRO 2 TB SSD and external drives from Toshiba and LaCie. Additionally, high-end gaming PCs featuring Nvidia RTX-50 series graphics cards are seeing significant price reductions at retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Newegg.
