Amazon releases 2026 Kindle with redesigned hardware
Amazon has launched its 2026 range of Kindle e-readers, featuring significant hardware redesigns for the entry-level model. The new device features a thinner, lighter body and a seamless, flush screen design that eliminates the bezel indentation found in previous generations. This change is intended to improve swipe operations and prevent dust accumulation in the screen grooves.
Technical improvements include a display that is up to 25% brighter and approximately 30% faster in page turns. The updated lineup also offers new color options and an aluminum chassis version with increased storage capacity of up to 32GB.
Despite these upgrades, the 2026 model lacks certain features found in higher-end versions, such as waterproofing and warm light adjustment. Additionally, the new hardware comes at a higher price point than its predecessor.
