Amazon, Target, and Walmart launch early holiday sales
Major U.S. retailers are launching early holiday sales events in early October, ahead of the traditional November and December shopping peaks. Amazon is scheduled to host Prime Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, while Target will hold its Target Circle Deal Days on the same dates. Target Circle 360 members may receive early access to select offers starting October 5.
Walmart is also participating with a weeklong event beginning October 5. Target’s promotions include discounts of up to 40 percent on various categories such as toys, technology, apparel, and holiday decorations. Other retailers, including Best Buy, are also positioning themselves for the upcoming season.
Beyond retail, the United States Postal Service has initiated its annual ‘Operation Santa’ program. These early commercial moves represent a strategic effort by retailers to capture household holiday budgets before competitors can launch their full seasonal campaigns.
