SAP CEO Christian Klein targets AI-driven growth
SAP CEO Christian Klein has identified artificial intelligence as a historic growth opportunity for the company. By leveraging its enterprise software, industry knowledge, and vast data sets, SAP aims to develop AI agents that integrate into business processes to optimize workflows and reduce costs. This strategy focuses on the concept of the ‘autonomous enterprise’ through a unified AI platform.
In Germany, the adoption of AI in the mid-sized sector faces challenges. While 83 percent of IT managers plan to increase AI investments over the next 12 to 24 months, implementation is slow. Approximately 61 percent of companies report that AI introduction takes six to twelve months, and 43 percent remain in the pilot phase. Complexity in tools and governance is also cited as a factor consuming IT resources.
In the recruitment sector, Bitkom reports that 12 percent of German companies already use AI in hiring, primarily for writing job advertisements, while 2 percent use it for conducting interviews. Meanwhile, the AI developer Anthropic is reportedly seeking a valuation of over 2 trillion dollars for its planned IPO, despite facing significant net losses due to high computing costs.
