Amazon to Produce Thursday Night Football Independently After NBC Deal Ends
Amazon announced it will end its partnership with NBC Sports to produce Thursday Night Football broadcasts for Prime Video. The existing five‑year agreement, signed in 2022, will conclude after the upcoming NFL season. From 2025 onward, Amazon’s own production team will handle the telecasts, with games streamed free on mobile via Twitch and available on the Prime Video app.
NBC Sports has signed a separate production arrangement with YouTube for occasional NFL broadcasts, while Disney’s ESPN+ and Netflix will also carry streaming‑exclusive games. The shift marks a strategic move for Amazon to control its sports streaming content and could introduce new features such as real‑time analytics via NextGen Stats.
