Amazon Fire TV transitions from Android to Vega OS

Amazon is transitioning its Fire TV Stick lineup from the Android operating system to a new system called Vega OS. This shift has caused debate within the user community, particularly regarding the loss of sideloading capabilities.

The current 2026 product range includes four distinct models: the entry-level Fire TV Stick HD, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, and the high-end Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
