Amazon Web Services advances AI chip sales and enterprise partnership

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is moving from using its Trainium AI processors only in its own data centers to offering them for sale to external customers. Senior Vice‑President Peter DeSantis confirmed that formal discussions are under way to market the Trainium chips, aiming to generate up to $50 billion in annual revenue and challenge Nvidia’s dominance in AI hardware.

In a parallel effort, AWS has signed a multiyear strategic collaboration agreement with WPP Enterprise Solutions. The partnership will help large brands scale generative and agentic AI from pilots to production, leveraging AWS tools such as Amazon Marketing Cloud, the Composable Content Engine built on Amazon Bedrock, and other AI accelerators. Jeff Geheb, CEO of WPP Enterprise Solutions, said the goal is to turn "AI generative and agentic" experiments into "operational systems" that deliver measurable ROI, while AWS vice‑president Ruba Borno noted that AI is becoming "the operational layer of commerce and customer experience."
